Army / Navy Game

Sorry for getting this up so late. We shot the Army/Navy Game last weekend up in Philly. It made for a LONG day but it is one of the “funnest” games to shoot. The game itself usually stinks but the atmosphere is awesome!

The President was there for his last Army Navy Game and made for a great shot! This is when he was coming out for the coin toss. He saw a ball set up for the kickers and just decided to go up and kick it. I guess you have to be in your last 100 days of your Presidency to risk the humiliation. He actually kicked it pretty well but looked really funny doing it:

More from the game:

And one final photo that you might not have seen in the paper (hmmm, wonder why!?):

Courtney + Tom

When Courtney and Tom decided to get married in June, they probably never thought they would have to wear coats and shovel snow…

Wait, I think the heat is still getting to me!  :-)

Their wedding at the Naval Academy on Saturday was beautiful.  So beautiful that God thought it would be best to give them even more light by putting the sun right on top of their wedding.  Summer on the East Coast officially started in full force with heat in the upper 90′s and high humidity.  But compared to the weekend before with lightning and downpours, I am sure this would be picked first any day.

Toni Sandys (of Washington Post fame) shot with me and the pictures turned out great.  Courtney and Tom were a dream to photograph.  You can just tell how much they are meant for each other.

I am just glad that they are sitting on the beach right now enjoying the same heat but without tuxes or 25 pound wedding dresses on (and I’m sure a frozen beverage helps even more).

The two of you looked amazing and were such a pleasure to be around.  The wedding was beautiful and the reception never had an open dance floor — that equals success!  Good luck to both of you.  Can’t wait to talk to you when you get back.

Now for some pics…

Unbelievable flowers by Cache Fleur:

The tiny fan couldn’t keep up with the heat but it was better than nothing.  Suzanne completed her Maid of Honor duties when the fan got caught in Courtney’s hair right before the wedding.  No harm was done!
Courtney’s dad is Buddy Green (Defensive Coordinator for the Naval Academy’s football team).  You could tell that walking down the aisle, he was Dad Green not Coach Green.

When your wife (to-be) gives a thumbs-up during the ceremony, life is good. This photo is one of my favorite from the entire wedding.  Courtney looks gorgeous, the flowers look amazing and the dress is spectacular.I love how Courtney’s ring fits inside Tom’s.  Very fitting. We set a land-speed record getting portraits done with the heat that day.

Courtney + Tom Engagement (3/20/08)

Courtney and Tom were troopers today! Coming in for the week from Tennessee to do some planning for their June wedding, we thought we were going to have a nice day to shoot some engagement photos around the Naval Academy where they are getting married.

It turned into a gorgeous day as long as the hurricane wind didn’t blow you over! The light was fantastic and as long as you were wearing a windproof coat (like me) and had really short hair (like me), it wasn’t hard at all. :-) However, these two didn’t have the luxury of short hair or big coats today and didn’t complain a bit.

I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in June! Besides being a great looking couple, Courtney and Tom are just such a pleasure to work with because they are so down to earth.

I hope we didn’t get you sick shooting outdoors today but if we did, I hope you like your pictures enough to make the sick days worth it! :-)

(Courtney’s dad is the Defensive Coordinator for the Naval Academy football team so we had to take this picture!)  ;-)
