Kristie + Greg = Photos!!

I know I already said how great their day was but man it was fun!
I love these photos because I just remember Kristie & Greg laughing so much:

Of course the two of you were just beautiful.  Kristie — you looked like a princess!  I say that in my best bridal store voice imitation!  ;-) Ha.

How can you not fall in love with Kristie’s nephew eating her wedding shoe?  Stole the show for a few minutes.  Too funny.

All the details turned out PERFECTLY!  Loved the cupcakes!  The flowers were awesome (although I am a bit biased since my wife wore Renunculas in her hair on our wedding day).

I love the feeling of this photo of Kristie coming down the stairs to head to her ceremony:

More of the gorgeous ceremony:

One of the sweetest moments of the day right after their ceremony with the officiant:

The beautiful outdoors:

She was the sweetest thing:

Who wouldn’t want their reception in this setting?

And finally a little dancing and a little late night kiss:

I wish you both the best!  I had a blast at your wedding.  Can’t wait for you to see all the other photos!

Happy Memorial Day!!

Happy Memorial Day!  Just wanted to take a second to say thank you to all our men and women who have fought and are fighting to make sure we have all the freedom we do.  You can question the orders they are given but you can’t question them and their bravery.  Thank you from myself, Nicole and Grace!

I am off for my last day before heading back to the Times tomorrow.  Ross Franklin (our former Chief Sports photographer who now works for the AP in Phoenix) and Jonathan Newton (Wash. Post sports photographer) are stopping over for some Grillin’ & Gracen’.  :-)

This photo is from Memorial Day a few years ago and I think sums it all up.

Kristie + Greg

It’s about 1 a.m. and I just got back home from Kristie and Greg’s wedding on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  What a wedding!!  I couldn’t wait to see some of the pics from the day so I decided to forgo sleep for a bit and treat myself to a cold beer (or two) while I ingest the 35GB of images from their wedding.

This wedding was everything they could have hoped for — and for that matter, everything I could have hoped for.  The weather was brilliant and the setting at the Inn at Mitchell House in Chestertown, Md. was the nicest I have photographed at in this area.  They had the entire Bed & Breakfast and all of its land to themselves and it was definitely the way to go.

The best thing about this day was Kristie and Greg.  From the moment I arrived, they (and their family and friends) were some of the kindest people I have met.  Some weddings you go to and feel like the hired help (which you are) and some make you feel like a part of their big day.  You could tell that Kristie and Greg didn’t have to go out of their way to make me feel included because that is just the kind of people they are.

I wanted to post a couple photos for the time being in hopes that they get to see it before heading off on their honeymoon on Tuesday.  This image is of their first kiss with all their guests.  The image was shot from a remote camera I clamped into a window on the second floor and I think says it all about the two of them and the beauty of the day.

I love this photo on the left of Kristie.  She looks stunning and I love the way she is looking at Greg!  The one on the right is the awesome part about using remote cameras — I was able to shoot the photo above and this one from a different angle.

Finally (before I turn in), is the exchange of the rings.

We are just getting warmed up so stay tuned for more tomorrow!

Kristie and Greg: I hope you are able to see a couple of these before you leave.  The two of you were just awesome to work with and you had an absolutely gorgeous wedding.  I hope the rest of your marriage is just the same.  Stay safe and have an amazing time on your honeymoon!

Tomorrow’s Wedding

I am so excited for Kristie and Greg’s wedding tomorrow!

•Small wedding.

•Easy-going couple.

•Pretty couple.

•Outdoor wedding.

•Perfect weather (sunny, 74 degrees)

What’s not to like??  I can’t wait to put up pictures from this wedding.

Can’t wait to see you two tomorrow!

LeBron James in the Playoffs (4/28/08)

This is LeBron taking off and doing his best imitation of the other famous #23 flying through the air. I was trying for a photo like this all night. It wasn’t 100% what I was trying for but I was happy with it.

I liked this photo of LeBron coming down from the dunk more than the dunk itself. It ran huge on the cover of our sports section and seemed to sum up the Wizards loss.

To put it in perspective, this is 6’8″ and 250 lbs. worth of athlete tumbling at you (and by you I mean me!):

Aimeé + Paul

I got a call from Paul on Friday afternoon asking if I was available on Saturday to shoot an engagement. What’s the rush you ask? Paul was planning to ask his to-be fiancé Aimeé Saturday afternoon and wanted to surprise her with a photo shoot that evening before they went to Mortons to celebrate.

Sounded like fun to me! We met up at the Inner Harbor of Baltimore and had a ton of fun walking around making people wonder who the famous people all dressed up getting their pictures taken were.

Aimeé and Paul were just an amazing couple. I can’t say enough about how nice they were.

I loved Aimeé from the moment I saw her – with her AWESOME hair, huge smile, good looks and great personality, how couldn’t you?! Aimeé will be graduating from the US Naval Academy in a few months. Her family is all from Dallas so she promised to tell me the good places to go eat when we shoot the Cowboys game this fall. :-)

Paul is a Marine and a graduate of the US Naval Academy. Underneath the tough Marine exterior, he is one of the kindest people I have met. Whether it was taking the time to ask Aimeé’s parents correctly, or setting up the photo shoot or just taking the time to pop the question to Aimeé in such a nice way, you can tell that they are just lucky to have each other.

I wish you both the best and hope I will get to see more of you in the future!
