Skins 26 – Cowboys 24

What a surprise!  I have a feeling a lot of people might have lost money on the “sure win” of Dallas.

I know I got lucky to be in the right place at the right time for both the Skins touchdowns.  This was my favorite photo of the team’s 2nd touchdown scored by Antwaan Randle El.  It ran on the cover of Sports today so I was happy.

Kaleb was a friend of mine from high school who recently moved to Dallas so we took him out to help us so he could see the really cool side of our job (and the really uncool side of all the waiting around).  Aside from post-season this should be the last time we have to deal with that horrible stadium.  The new one next year should be AWESOME!

Ashley + Adam = Preparation

We don’t get a ton of outdoor weddings here on the East Coast because of the uncertainty of the weather.  But man, they can be beautiful!!

Ashley and Adam’s wedding was perfect.  Although it got a little chilly out at night, all the dancing kept everyone pretty warm.

My colleague and friend at the Times, Katie Falkenberg, helped me photograph this wedding and did such a nice job!

Ashley + Adam = Ceremony

Ashley and Adam’s ceremony was held on the Chesapeake Bay.  The wedding was gorgeous and you couldn’t have picked a nicer day.

Ashley + Adam = Portraits

With 20 in the Bridal Party, it is good that God makes wide angle lenses.  Being on the beach, the Bridal Party got to wear flip-flops and be nice and casual.  It was a fun bunch on both sides.**DISCLAIMER:  I love shooting portraits but I have a rule of never asking my brides to jump, lay across the groomsmen or other setups like that.  I also have a rule that if they just decide to do it themselves, I will shoot the hell out of it!!  :-) The bridesmaids and groomsmen started having fun and it made great photos.

Adam, don’t hate me for posting this photo!  When I saw it, I couldn’t stop myself from posting it.  Too funny.

Adam + Ashley = Reception

The first dance started off sweet and ended a little sassy.

Max doing the “worm” was worth the price of admission.

Thank You For The Thank You

I am truly blessed to photograph some wonderful people.  It is such a nice feeling to receive a note from someone after they see their photos saying they love them.

A friend referred me to April who needed some headshots done for a seminar she was speaking at and for her new business.  She was so nice to work with on Monday afternoon.

Today I got this note from her and it just made my day!

Michael-

Thank you, I love the shots!

You’ve evoked complex, interesting expressions, and you’ve created portraits that look beautiful. It is not easy to make me look this good J I’m impressed. Choosing is quite a task, and I’m working on it now.  Please consider yourself booked for all photography from now through the grandkids!

Warm regards,

April
