Happy Halloween II

Happy Halloween

I am going to be gone tomorrow night for a story I am working on (no choice) so don’t get to take Grace around Trick-Or-Treating her first time.  We are going to stop by some friends to Trick-Or-Treat on Saturday instead.

Wait until you see her outfit!!!

This should hold you over for now.  I carved Grace’s name into her pumpkin.  I will shoot her with it lit and her costume on tomorrow.  It turned out pretty nice.

***Tomorrow is the 5 year anniversary of my first date with Nicole.  I had just flown back from shooting a wedding in Paris and spending some time in Sweden with friends after it and had one day before I took of for the Dallas game so she came over for dinner on Halloween.  Who would have known that five years later we would be married and carving our daughter’s name into her pumpkin!!

Detroit Is 0-7, Need We Say More??

Ah, nothing like a nice little trip to Detroit every now and then to make you like where you live a little more (even if you live in Kandahar).  I kid!  :-)  Let’s just say I wasn’t looking forward to it as much as the San Francisco trip!

Detroit has a nice new dome (not brand new but new-ish).  Everyone is starting to build domes to provide for better weather and so they can host the Super Bowl even in crappy weather.

Here is my problem with the trend.  They are boring!!!  I know that some are better than others but I will still lump them all together.  And yes, Detroit sucks so that is part of the reason it sounded like a library in there.  The problem with climate control is that it just makes everyone a little TOO comfortable.  You feel like taking a nap.

A guy who had front row tickets to the game (right in the endzone) read a newspaper the entire game!!!  Now, far be it from me to criticize anyone for actually reading newspapers these days, but at a football game when you have front row seats!!!???

My other problem with domes is that the light sucks!!!  Give me that beautiful light during an October 1:00 game at FedEx, or the gorgeous light all year at Candlestick Park in San Fran any day!!  Both of those stadiums are absolute dumps but God sure knows how to light things some times.

Enough of my soap box.  On with some pics:

Campbell ended up having a good game but definitely had problems holding onto the ball early.  Still hasn’t thrown an interception:

I think Campbell wants his ball back:

Portis is an absolute machine this year.

This game was all Santana Moss.  Both touchdowns and one was an 80-yard punt return. You have to love coach Zorn.  Everyone thought the Skins were CRAZY for hiring this guy.  I don’t know if they lucked out or knew what they were doing but he is doing a great job.  He is fun to shoot because he seems like a good guy but also shows emotion.  Good luck ever getting emotion out of coach Gibbs!

My Anniversary!

Today marks 2 years for me and my wife.  I can’t believe it’s already been two years!

So much has changed especially after having Grace but it has all been so wonderful.  We truly are two lucky people.

Here is a photo from 2 years ago today:

P.S. Happy birthday to our Best Man Ro (on the left).

P.P.S.  Found out yesterday that my groomsman from Sweden just got engaged so off to Europe next year for the wedding!!!

Oh, The Humanity!!! Redskins 17 – Rams 19

When the Skins go on the road to beat the Cowboys and the Eagles, you expect that being at home against an 0-4 team shouldn’t be much of a problem.  I guess that line of thinking goes out the window when you can’t do anything right like: holding onto the football, catching the football, kicking (and or punting) the ball far and in bounds…

Portis gets two touchdowns and has a great game only to watch everyone else not do their jobs:

Campbell sack:

Campbell getting the ball stripped for ANOTHER fumble:Campbell getting sacked AGAIN:

Cooley (who is usually The Man) fumbling:Why punt all the way down the field when you can just punt 30 or 40 yards:I wanted to walk over and give the Skins the heads-up that Steven Jackson was running the ball EVERY time.I am not going to say that I am the greatest football mind ever but I do know that when you are leading by 1 point with seconds left, you don’t want to let a receiver catch a 43-yard pass to put them in easy field goal range.  But hey, that’s just me…
