Connor Studios Photographs Featured on District Wedding

Just got a link from our friend Hillary at Special Events at Union Station that Union Station was featured on the District Weddings Blog.  The five photographs they ran of Union Station weddings were all Connor Studios photographs.  :-)

Check out their blog.  It’s a great resource in the D.C. area for wedding ideas.

Kara + James | Eastern Shore Wedding, Chestertown, Md.

When Kara went off to tour around Europe, her father told her one thing — DON’T fall in love over there.  Like most daughters, Kara didn’t listen and met James in England.

Their wedding and reception was a wonderful mixture of spiritual and fun.  They took over Brittland Manor in Chestertown, Maryland on Maryland’s Eastern Shore to get ready and hold the reception.  The ceremony was at St. Dennis Church – a beautiful little church in Galena.

Driving over the Bay Bridge for the wedding, the Fall colors seemed to just explode.  The only problem was that the clouds were going to start exploding as well.  I don’t know what it was with rain and Fall in the area but this year, they were just not cooperating.  Judging by the dance floor, nobody seemed to mind too much.  James’ family and friends all came over from England for the wedding and seemed ready to have a great time.

The best part was a pit-stop made by the bridal party on the way from the ceremony to the reception.  I am sure that liquor store doesn’t see a lot of brides and grooms sweeping in much.  Made for great photographs.

Their first dance was sung by a friend and was so sweet.  In all my years of photographing weddings, I don’t think I have photographed a friend sing for the couple and it was a wonderful personal touch (probably helps that she was a great singer as well).

But absolutely nothing could top the cuteness of the ring bearers!

Julie + Mike | Union Station Wedding

We can’t say enough about Julie and Mike’s wedding!  All of our Union Station weddings are absolutely gorgeous and theirs was no exception.

Julie and all of her bridesmaids were absolutely beautiful and couldn’t have been nicer.  Mike and the guys were just as nice and I can appreciate anyone who can appreciate Johnnie Walker Blue on an important occasion.

It was our first time photographing at Holy Rosary near China Town.  I can’t believe we haven’t been there before — what a beautiful church!  After the wedding it was off to Union Station for good food and good fun.

Mike is a huge (and I emphasize HUGE) Redskins fan so Julie surprised him with a Redskins Groom’s Cake.  After this many years of photographing weddings in this area, I am surprised I never saw a Redskins cake until now.  (as an aside, I have a bride and groom next year who’s colors are burgundy and gold – no accident)  After bringing it out, everyone sang “Hail to the Redskins”.  It was just one of those fun personalized moments.

Meg + James | Hunter’s Oak (River Plantation) Wedding

Meg and James’ wedding on the Eastern Shore was absolutely beautiful. It was the first “Fall” wedding of the season – beautiful trees, cooler weather…

Their wedding was at Hunter’s Oak and their reception was just up the road at the River Plantation in Queenstown, Maryland. Hunter’s Oak is absolutely amazing and I will highly recommend it for any bride looking for a location on the Eastern Shore. I could go on about it, but just look at the photographs.

Some of our favorite photographs come from Meg and James seeing each other for the first time. The day was pretty windy but the amazing thing was that the wind died down for their ceremony.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen were a ton of fun and the night turned out just like the sunset – perfect.

Jenny + Scott | Chesapeake Bay Beach Club

Jenny and Scott began our incredibly busy October wedding season and unlike most of the rest of October, their day was absolutely gorgeous (no rain!).

Their wedding and reception was held at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club just over the Bay Bridge in Stevensville, Maryland. It is definitely one of our favorite places to photograph. You really feel like you are removed from the hustle and bustle and can just relax in a beautiful setting. On top of that, the Beach Club service is wonderful!

Jenny looked absolutely stunning in her dress and her nieces couldn’t have been cuter. Scott and his groomsmen were a ton of fun as well – as you can tell from the final photographs. We couldn’t have had a nicer sunset across the Chesapeake Bay when we were finishing group photographs.

Dallas “Beats” Redskins in a “Riveting” “Game” | 7-6

Just got back from Dallas. The airports were crazy today!

Ok, let’s get this out of the way — Cowboys Stadium is pretty cool. The screen is more better than you think! :-) As a fan of architecture, I think all the stadiums being built are too much like space ships. I am hoping someone does something like an old Soldier Field soon. After all the years I have photographed at Texas Stadium, I never thought I would say the terms good light, comfortable or great set-up in the same sentence with Dallas.
