This blog will not go away (too much wonderful history).

Grace was super sweet with him but really has no idea how much life will change. I took her down for an ice cream date in the hospital cafeteria. Grandma Linda has been watching her while we are at the hospital.

We were lucky to have Grandma Linda and Grandpa Paul able to see him on his first day.

Everyone is healthy and happy and a little sleep deprived.

On Sunday, Michael and I finished her brother’s room. It turned out really great. Grace had a blast sitting in his crib and testing everything out. I really don’t think she knows a baby is coming home soon- but I think she’s going to be a great Big Sister.

My Dad and Grandma Patti also were able to come visit and help with our home and we were able to visit with them to celebrate Christmas a week early too.  It was great to see them and they were able to spend a lot of time playing with Grace.

Grandma Janet was able to come for a very special 9 day visit over Thanksgiving in our new home. She was able to spend a great deal of quality time with Grace during those days. They were able to play, read, and do lots of cuddling while watching Dora. It was great to have her here to help us prepare for our first holiday at our new home especially with me being 7 1/2 months pregnant at that time.

Grace had a blast on Christmas morning. I walked her downstairs to see all of her new presents and she opened her first one, a play-doh pack with accessories which she could have played with for hours. But, eventually she got the hang of opening gifts and within tw0 hours we were done. Grace really likes to check out each toy when she opens it before we move onto the next. I’m sure next year she’ll go tearing through everything in record time. She received so many things such as a kitchen set, dolls, books, a ball, bead maze, a potty (which she just loves), 2 strollers, Leapfrog baby, a Dora trike, a pink rocking pony, slippers, and tons of Dora gear. We don’t know what to do with it all. Michael would like to build Grace some shelving units when the weather gets warmer to store all of her and her brother’s toys.

Grace has learned so much already. Everyday we are amazed by her little memory. She knows pretty much all of her colors (purple and orange are a bit tricky).  She is really starting to practice her shapes and can count to 3 in both English and Spanish. She is quite the expert on all the animal sounds including elephant, and body parts too. She loves to talk and repeat phrases Michael and I say to her and loves to chat in the car.

Michael got me a new camera for the holidays so I’m going to try to post more  but here are a few from Christmas that I took with my camera. Michael’s pics are much nicer but he is pretty busy right now, so we will see them soon.

The first two pictures are of Grace playing with her new kitchen set, her eating a Christmas cookie she decorated, then her and Michael tired of a big day of playing, then Aunt Melissa’s and Uncle Brendan’s gift of Backpack that she loves.
