Cheryl and David got an absolutely beautiful day for their wedding. You couldn’t have asked for too much better (of course us guys in suits could always ask to go down about 10 degrees but we are high maintenance like that!).
I started off the day with Cheryl and the ladies in her suite at the Phoenix Park hotel near Union Station which has an absolutely beautiful view. The ladies were about as low stress as you can get (except for the cookie bracket!) and were even ahead of time! Cliff started off with David and the guys around the corner at the Hotel George. It turns out that the Hotel George doesn’t just hang 2 white robes in the closet. They go for Zebra and Cheetah robes along with Leopard camisoles which looked really fetching on the guys!
Cheryl and David’s decided to see each other before the wedding and their first look was in the door of Holy Rosary Church. If you ever wonder why you want two photographers, their first look photographs explain it well. Same moment from two very different angles and both absolutely stunning!
The funny thing about Holy Rosary is that it’s an absolutely beautiful church but it is right across from the FBI Washington Field Office so they have these two massive armored trucks out front that look like tanks. It always makes for great wedding portraits — very Washington!
I love the photographs of the processional (it is so pretty at that church with the ladies going up the stairs) but one of my favorite photographs of the ceremony was a moment between Cheryl and her Grandma. Of course the kiss on the way out was just perfect as well.
We did some portraits after that near the Capitol and a few at Union Station before heading into their reception at the Columbus Club in Union Station. Union Station is by far one of our favorite venues. It is absolutely beautiful and makes life so easy on your guests.
We couldn’t have asked for a nicer couple and are so happy for both of you!! Have fun in Italy!
