Ever since we photographed Shawn + Mike’s wedding in August 2009, every single time we receive a call from a bride or groom that were referred from them, we pretty much know they will be some of our favorite people to work with.

Jenny + Boyd were exactly that. Both of them and their families were an absolute joy to work with.

Some people would never want to work on New Year’s Eve. We LOVE New Year’s Eve weddings. Everyone is so happy and ready to party all night long.

We started off at Jenny’s parents’ house getting ready. It’s always nice to be able to spread out and relax when the girls were getting ready.

They day was pretty cold outside but Jenny was a trooper with wanting to do portraits outside. I think it was worth the chill! The first photo is actually a reflection in some old water standing on a pool cover. I think both of them thought I was probably a bit crazy for photographing some dirty standing water during their portraits but I told them they would be surprised to see what it looked like in the end. 🙂

From there, it was off to Jenny’s church. I found my new favorite church!! Big, unbelievably well lit and colorful!

You can’t go wrong with a reception at the St. Regis. Alicia Bell from the St. Regis and Christine Godsey from Engaging Affairs ran one heck of a reception!

Of course every time I’m back at a wedding with Shawn + Mike, we have to get our group photo taken. It was nice to add a new one with Jenny + Boyd as well!
