We worked with Kelly and Brian and Kelly’s mom and Jamie from Simply Chic Events for well over a year on this wedding so to finally be there in the day was so much fun! The weather all week was calling for rain all day so it wasn’t super promising. That morning, the sun came out and proved us all wrong. I was a little worried during the service when it down-poured but if it needed to get it out of its system, that was the time to do it!
I’m pretty sure you just can’t go wrong when your getting married somewhere as beautiful as St. Matthew’s Cathedral and the St. Regis. You really don’t have to do much to the St. Regis to make it amazing but when you go all-in like this and transform the space, it is just so over-the-top-beautiful!
I’ll admit I’m a sucker for Father-Daughter Dance photos because I imagine myself (in MANY years) doing that with my two daughters. I think that’s why I just absolutely LOVE the photo of Kelly’s dad walking her down the aisle getting emotional. I imagine I will be crying like a baby!
After the ceremony, it was off to a steamy portrait session near the White House and back to the St. Regis for the rest of the night. What they did to the space was just AMAZING! Jamie Sears and her ladies from Simply Chic Events along with Susan from the St. Regis (with the help of some of the best people in the business) made an already perfect space as beautiful as I’ve ever seen it. If you think there are tons of detail photos here, you haven’t seen half of them!!
At the end of the Father-Daughter dance, Kelly’s mom surprised the two Maryland Alumni with the University of Maryland Marching Band, Mascot and Cheerleaders marching onto the floor. It was a great surprise for them and for everyone. Not too long after that, Brian surprised Kelly by jumping on stage and singing to her.
We couldn’t thank Kelly, Brian and their families enough! Also, this never could have happened without some of the absolute best people in the industry coming together to come up with a vision and make it happen!
