I’m just going to say it. Kelly + Chris easily go down in the top 5 couples we have ever had the pleasure to work with!
They are a DC couple who now lives in LA and their wedding was a beautiful combination of both. Take one of DC’s most breathtaking venues, throw in some serious style (thanks Atrendy Wedding) and keep LA-chill the entire day and that was this wedding.
We started off the day getting ready at the Willard. Sometimes the bridal suites can be a bit “energetic”. Kelly and her bridesmaids were so relaxed and just having fun which is the greatest way to start the day.
From there, we loaded the 5 Bridesmaids and 17 Groomsmen onto a bus and headed to the Lincoln Memorial for portraits (which is also where Chris proposed). The great thing about having 22 people in your Bridal Party is that they do a great job blocking out all the tourists in the background!
After that, it was off to the Mellon Auditorium to get married and celebrate. In a first for us, we had a former groom of ours marrying Kelly + Chris (and he did a great job).
The rest of the night just went into an amazing party. The dance floor stayed packed all night. For the final song, a friend took to the stage in a band leader costume to sing everyone out with The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine”. And if everyone didn’t get enough to eat all night, there was a gourmet grilled cheese food truck waiting outside for everyone.
A huge thank you to Kelly + Chris for just being so wonderful to work with and to Anne Kelley from Atrendy Wedding for running everything so beautifully and smoothly.
