Liza + Jay | Wedding Photography | National Museum Of Women In The Arts, Washington, DC

When you get ready at the Hotel Monaco and have your wedding at the NMWA, the weather can kind of do what it would like because both places are so beautiful, you don’t really need to go anywhere else.  The weather decided to FINALLY not rain but instead go blazing hot.  Jay made the call (the correct call) that he didn’t want to go to the National Mall like they originally planned for because of the heat so we were able to stay around both locations and not miss a beat.  We stepped outside for a couple minutes to do a few outdoor photos within feet of the Monaco and even that was pretty brutal for a guy in a suit but he was a trooper and hopefully it was worth it.

Everything else was pretty amazing that day.  NMWA is one of our most favorite locations in the city because we have so many angles to photograph from.  The ceremony was very sweet and personal with a friend marrying them.  The speeches ranged from laughing to crying in probably the perfect amount of both.  The guests even got surprised with the Washington Capitals’ mascot Slapshot (the STANLEY-CUP-WINNING-WASHINGTON-CAPITALS!!) joining the party.
